My name is Sandra Herrera. I am married to my wonderful husband, Paul, and we have two beautiful daughters, Ashley (age 15) and Chelsea (age 11). My family means the world to me. I enjoy being a wife and a mom, which often includes cooking, cleaning and caring for our home. Between participating in many activities with Ashley and volunteering as a guest speaker at my church, I find joy in the littlest things.
When I became paralyzed, due from a tumor removed from my spinal cord, I vowed to not let it affect my life and the things I enjoy most, such as being outdoors. 
Whether it is basking in the sun on a raft in Palm Springs at our time share, or lying out on the beach, if it’s a sunny day, you will usually find me out and about. My family and I love dining out, as well catching the latest feature films at popular hot spots.
I am also a very friendly person, whose favorite accessory to my brand named couture, is the smile on my face. Perhaps that is why my position as a Senior Referral Specialist at Xtreme Medical suits me well. I am easy to talk with and am always ready to provide guidance on the many complexities that spinal cord injury can bring along with it.
As a health conscious person, I try to work out daily on my moveable standing frame, as well as encouraging healthy food choices for me and my family. I thank God for giving me the strength to have 
faced all that I have endured, and for blessing my life with such wonderful family and friends.
My family, especially my two brothers Aaron and David, have been unwavering every time I've attempted something. Whether it was traveling across Europe with Aaron or attempting to skydive with David or skiing in Colorado, my family and friends were there to make it happen. Through RALPH'S RIDERS, we hope to make to make the same impact on the lives of others.
