Hi Riders,
I am a quad of c6/c7 for the past 10yrs after a tragic road accident. I stayed in hospital for 3months after which i was released to go home. I have never been to a rehab center nor non for quads exist here in Kenya.
For years i struggled with my condition and managed to survive this far.Through SCI forums i have come to realize that i can leave a fulfilling life just like able bodied persons. I am trying with few friends to set up a rehab center for quads in Kisumu City here in Kenya and we are looking for friends outside this country who can team up with us in order to succeed in changing the lives of quads.
This is a third world country and we lack many facilities for persons with SCI. I believe there are organizations out there with Equipments they consider obsolete and no longer use them but are still useful to us here . We will appreciate any assistance that your foundation can offer

I became a T12 Para in March 2010. I have been home from the hospital for about a year. I go to PT 2x a week and visit my Real Estate office 2x a week although I work from home too.
I am at the stage of needing to be more independent and rely less on my wife - to give her a break. That is my goal for the rest of the summer; which includes getting outfitted to drive. I'd really like to go to lunch with my buddies - unassisted.
By now I have figured out that my low injury makes me relatively fortunate compared to folks with higher injuries so I am further along on the route of leading normal and fulfilling life.
